I know, first blog in a very long time, but the last months have been fairly busy for me, but thanks to the help of friends and family, the workload as been cut tremendously.

Since May, a few people have stepped to the plate and offered their help with fundraising money for the Bruce OrganisationIn May, Benoit Côté, a teacher at Grande-Rivière High School organised The Amazing 1 Night Only Ball Hockey Extravaganza!!! 6 teams participated in a mini challenge that resulted with the Yellow team winning the honours with what was suspected of a bit of foul play!!! Fun was had by all, a few beers flowed after the matches and I still think that my Red Team, with the exploits of Bobby "Jacques Plante" Garceau should have won!! In the end, the tourny brought in a bit more than 200$!! Thanks again to Ben and all the players!!!

Following that, another teacher at Grande-Rivière and a very good friend of mine, Serge Fortin, organised with the help of his music students, a fundraising concert to the profit of the Bruce Organisation. Students from his guitar class wrote their own melodies and lyrics on social subjects such as racism, alcoholism, human rights.... To top it off, James Lamarche, Robert Garceau, Vincent Bourque and myself also performed a few compositions, with mine, and most of the sudents, being our first ever performance in front of an audience! Nervewreaking cannot even start to describe how I felt!! Once again thanks to all the students that participated and to the stellar organisation of Mr. Serge Fortin!!!

June was also marked with the teaming of Trans America Trek and Les Jeux du Québec 2010. On a cloudy Saturday, a gang of determined hoodlums took the corners of St-Joseph and Montclair in Gatineau and erected a fundrasing roadblock to the profit of both organisations! After 5 hours of panhandling, we managed to raise a total of more than 1600$, with 895$ going straight to the Bruce Organisation!!! thanks a lot to Amélie " I will give you a kiss for 20$" Chapman, Nancy "Why did Amélie get me into this" Trépannier, Vincent "Can I get in your car" Bourque, Nicole " I can collect money and teach the swing at the same time" McIvor, Marie-Pierre "I think Bourque is Crazy" Berthiaume, Mélanie "The Bucket Master" Trudel, Sonia "J'aime Chap" Gagnon, and Nathalie "I work the corner by myslef and rule"!!!!!!!

So that's news so far for the fundraisers, a lot more needs to be done till departure time in October but with the help of all involved, am getting there slowly but surely!!!
